Why do you need a pile cutter?

Pile foundations form the backbone of many construction projects, be it bridges, high-rise buildings or civil engineering projects. After concreting, piles often need to be machined to prepare the upper part (pile head) for further construction work. Traditional methods such as manual chiseling or cutting of piles are time-consuming, imprecise and pose high safety risks.

The pile cutter offers an innovative solution here:

  • Precision: Precise processing of the pile head without damaging the surrounding structures.
  • Efficiency: Significantly reduces processing time compared to manual methods.
  • Safety: Minimizes the risk of accidents at work through automated processes.

With the Brextor® pile cutter, you are choosing a device that meets the high demands of modern construction projects.

What other methods are there for pile breaking?

Pile heads can be processed in various ways. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, but a direct comparison shows why the Brextor® pile cutter is a superior solution.

  • Pile Breaker/Pile Cropper
The pile breaker is a hydraulically operated device that is mounted on an excavator. It crushes the concrete around the pile head, leaving the steel reinforcement intact.

    • Advantages: Fast processing.
    • Disadvantages: Rough work process that often requires reworking.
  • Removal with hydraulic breaker
The hydraulic breaker is a classic method in which the concrete is removed mechanically. It is also attached to excavators and is used especially for harder concrete.

    • Advantages: Robust and suitable for different types of piles.
    • Disadvantages: Very loud, vibration-intensive and not gentle on the pile.
  • Manual methods
Traditionally, pile heads are worked on with demolition hammers or cutting tools.

    • Advantages: Cost-effective for small projects.
    • Disadvantages: Very labor-intensive, imprecise and time-consuming.

How does the pile cutter work?

The patented Brextor® pile cutter works with a rotating cutter head that has been specially developed to precisely remove concrete. The milling head can be adapted to different pile diameters and heights, making it universally applicable.

It is operated via a carrier device that enables the user to position the milling machine precisely and start the milling process. Concrete is removed cleanly while the steel reinforcement remains undamaged.

What are the advantages of the Bextor® pile cutter?

It is an efficient, safe and high-quality method for breaking piles. With this method, not only single piles, but also all types of pile walls (tangent, secant or contiguous) are processed gently by machine. The work is done by one person and one machine. The weather conditions have no influence here.

Brextor® offers the following advantages:

🏗 Increased construction quality

Perfect pile breaking without cracks in the pile body or spalling on the pile outer skin, no bent or torn reinforcements and a height accuracy of +/- 1cm.

Pile processing with Brextor

💵 Reduced construction costs

The demolition material consists of 80% gravel 0-30mm and can therefore be reused directly on the construction site. In addition, Brextor® requires less working space than conventional mining methods. This means that not only expenses for transportation and disposal incl. fees are saved, but the purchase and supply of replacement material is also eliminated. Furthermore, the preparatory work eliminates the need for a separating diamand cut at the final extraction level and the cleaning effort is massively lower than with conventional extraction methods.

Shortened processing time

For example, a pile with a diameter of 1 m and a height of 1 m can be processed within 40 minutes. A daily output of up to 16 piles is possible. In addition, Brextor® provides reliable performance and therefore increased planning security.

♻️ Environmentally friendly

With Brextor®, the demolition material (80% gravel 0-30mm) can be reused directly on the construction site. In addition, Brextor® requires less working space. This saves excavation and replacement material. Due to the direct reuse of the demolition material on the construction site and the saving of excavation and replacement material, transports can be saved. In addition, landfills are less burdened.

👷 Increased health & safety at work

No heavy physical work is required for pile cutting, which massively reduces the risk of health hazards such as HAVS syndrome. In addition, Brextor® avoids working in danger zones.
