Pile crusher

A pile crusher is a mechanical solution for the fast and efficient processing of concrete piles. This device works by a ring-shaped arrangement of hydraulic cylinders that press a horizontal crack into the pile body. This causes the upper concrete section to be blasted off and can be easily removed. This method is particularly suitable for removing unreinforced over-concrete and smaller piles.

Work steps when using the pile crusher

After a concrete pile has been cast and hardened, the pile breaker can be used to remove the upper part of the pile. The following steps are carried out:

  1. Positioning the pile crusher: The pile crusher is lifted precisely over the pile head to be removed with the aid of an excavator or construction crane.

  2. Activation of the hydraulic cylinders: The cylinders can be individually adjusted depending on the pile diameter. It exerts targeted pressure to create a horizontal crack.

  3. Separation of the upper concrete segment: The compressive force ensures that the concrete breaks and the loose concrete pieces are separated from the pile.

  4. Removal of the concrete residue: The blasted concrete parts are transported away and disposed of.

  5. Manual finishing: A residual layer of 10-20 cm remains for finishing and must be removed by hand.

Advantages of the pile crusher

The pile crusher is particularly efficient when removing unreinforced overconcrete and small piles. The Pile crusher can also massively reduce the risk of HAVS (hand-arm vibration syndrome).

Brextor® as an alternative to the pile crusher

Pile crusher special civil engineering

Brextor® can be used as an alternative to the pile cruser.

  1. Once the pile has been concreted over, the excess concrete is removed with the milling disk until the reinforcing bars are visible. The reinforcing bars are marked, the center of the reinforcement cage is located and a small guide hole is drilled.
  2. It is milled to the desired height profile. The inner cutter breaks the core tension to prevent cracks in the pile body. The outer cutter breaks the surface tension to prevent spalling on the outer skin of the pile.
  3. The residual concrete is then broken away using the specially developed BRC pile head crusher with longer biting arms.
  4. Finally, the areas between the reinforcements are cleaned with an electric hammer.

Brextor®: the pile crusher experts

With the patented Brextor® milling process the dismantling force is under control at all times. The core and surface tension is broken in a single work step. But that’s not all! Brextor® contributes to efficient and sustainable pile head processing:

Brextor pile crusher🏗 Increased construction quality

Perfectly finished piles without cracks in the pile body or spalling on the pile skin, no bent or torn reinforcements and a height accuracy of +/- 1 cm.

💵 Reduced construction costs

The demolition material consists of 80% gravel 0-30mm and can therefore be reused directly on the construction site. In addition, Brextor® requires less working space than conventional mining methods. This means that not only expenses for transportation and disposal incl. fees are saved, but the purchase and supply of replacement material is also eliminated. Furthermore, the preparatory work eliminates the need for a separating diamand cut at the final extraction level and the cleaning effort is massively lower than with conventional extraction methods.

Shortened processing time

A pile, e.g. with a diameter of 1 m and a removal height of of 1m can be processed within 40 minutes. Thus a Daily output of up to 16 piles possible. With Brextor® you also get a reliable performance and therefore increased planning security.

♻️Environmentally friendly

With Brextor®, the demolition material (80% gravel 0-30mm) can be reused directly on the construction site. Brextor® also requires less working space. This saves excavation and replacement material. By reusing the demolition material directly on the construction site and saving on excavation and replacement material, transportation can be saved. In addition, landfills are less polluted.

👷Increased health & safety at work

No heavy physical labor is required for pile processing, which massively reduces the risk of health hazards such as HAVS syndrome. Brextor® also avoids working in danger zones.
